About....

Catalyst Sports Management began life in 1997, predominantly as an exporter of rugby players to the United Kingdom, Europe & Japan. This was in response to the lack of fulltime contract places available in the new created Professional Australian rugby market, based around Sydney & Brisbane.

In 2001 Paul Hogan joined Catalyst founder Guy Gibbons to advance Catalyst’s contact base in the general rugby population. Hogan, having worked in ABC Sport for both Radio & TV, had extensive experience playing & coaching in Australia & overseas in both codes, was able to enhance the Catalyst talent base. Hogan brought on board several Rugby & Rugby League players and continues to manage their careers today. home image

Over this period Catalyst managed a Junior Champion Tennis Player, a Lady Golfer and a Boxer along with Para-Olympian Stephen Eaton, with success. In 2004, Guy stepped down to concentrate on his growing legal practise. With the advent of compulsory accreditation in Rugby & Rugby League, Hogan has become accredited in both codes & concentrated his efforts on these 2 sports.

Catalyst continues to grow and to assist budding young stars of both codes with their physical & mental development in the tough world of Professional Sport. This includes organising strength & conditioning programs, obtaining dietary advice & specialist coaching. For the more senior players, finance & investment programs are sourced through highly qualified consultants and institutions.

Catalyst Sports Management incorporated in July 2007 and in 2008 Catalyst appointed 2 new Directors in Moses Rauluni, the Fijian World Cup Captain and well known Barrister, John Fraser to join Paul Hogan. In October 2008, well known Rugby League identity Paul Srama joined the Company to add his expertise to Catalyst and became an accredited NRL agent in 2009. Along with consultants, rugby identity Nick Cooper, former Rugby League star Bevan Canning and sponsorship specialist Josh Griffiths, Srama and the new directors will enhance the expertise and wealth of experience at Catalyst. The group also works closely with the training company Fitnance, through its Principal Steve Nance, the former Broncos & Wallaby strength & conditioning Director.

With new stars emerging Catalyst looks forward to a bright future.
